Get to Know the Krugh Insurance Staff
Larry grew up in the family insurance business, graduated from Northeastern High School in 1970, attended Clark State, and began officially working full time in the family insurance business as a fully-licensed agent in 1988 with his father, Charles Krugh, who started the agency in the family home in Catawba (Clark County), Ohio in 1959. Krugh Insurance is an independent agency offering a full line of personal, commercial, and life insurance for over 57 years.
In 2013, Larry and younger brother Rodney purchased a second independent agency (another of the oldest Grange agencies in Ohio), Champaign County Insurance, renamed it Krugh Insurance Agency, and relocated it to Scioto Plaza, offering the same companies and insurance products in a second location to better serve all their clients.
In 2004, Larry was a founding member of the Champions Center in Clark County, served 2 terms as President of their Board of Directors, and continues to serve on that Board today.
Larry and his wife are very active in the Champaign Family YMCA and enjoy their hobby-turned-business of breeding, raising, and showing double-registered buckskin and dun American Quarter Horses on their small operation in the northeast corner of Clark County.
Rodney K. Krugh
Rodney (“Rock”) grew up in Catawba the youngest of Charles and Alice Krugh’s 3 children. He graduated Northeastern High School, attended Urbana University, and coached youth football for South Vienna for several years. Rodney left Honda of America after 11 years to join the family agency full-time in 2002. When the brothers bought Champaign Insurance in Urbana, Rodney took on the management of that location, assisted by Corie White.
In order to maintain continuity between the 2 locations, Larry spends time each week in the Urbana office, while Rodney has a working desk in the Catawba office as well. Both brothers take appointments in whichever location is convenient for the client. Rodney is constantly honing his skills in the field of farm insurance and is a member of the newly-formed Champaign Agri-Business Association.
Having spent years helping his 3 kids with lambs, dairy feeders and beef steers in 4-H and FFA, Rodney continues to raise a few calves at home. For Krugh Insurance, Rodney supports 4-H and FFA in Clark and Champaign Counties through the livestock sales every year at the fairs, bidding on the projects of their clients. Both offices of Krugh Insurance Agency display the photos, plaques, and letters of thanks from the kids!
