Krugh Insurance Agency History
Krugh Insurance Agency began in the Charles Krugh family home in 1959, when Charles Krugh purchased one of the first Grange Independent Agencies in the state of Ohio. During the first 20 years, Charlie sold and serviced home, auto, farm, and business policies while his wife Alice typed, filed, and handled the mail. Today, over 58 years later, the agency has continued to operate in the family tradition of personalized customer service as their byword.
When Alice passed away in 2000 and Charlie retired with serious health issues in 2001, older son Larry took the reins and carried on in the family tradition, bringing in his younger brother Rodney (“Rock”) before Charlie’s death in 2003. Steady growth necessitated the addition of another licensed agent/Customer Service Representative, Kim Baldwin, in 2009 and Paula Massie in Catawba in 2017.
Krugh Insurance Agency expanded the business size in 2013, acquiring Champaign Insurance Agency, another one of the oldest Grange agencies in Ohio, located in Urbana. Today, 4 licensed agents and 2 customer service representatives in 2 locations sell and service the product lines of Grange, Ohio Mutual/United Ohio, Progressive, Celina, Pekin, SafeCo, Liberty Mutual, Jackson Life and Annuities, and Dairyland Insurance companies.
